Suisei no Gargantia - 13

Legend of the Verdurous Planet

It was a poignant moment when Chamber spoke up against Striker in defense of Ledo’s perspective. By this point, we have learned to accept that Chamber will always favour the Galactic Alliance's brand of logic, and will not deviate from its totalitarian ideal.  For Chamber to actively reject the conclusions of a higher ranking unit and officer demonstrates an ethical awareness previously lacking.  Ledo’s reaction and the dramatic music definitely make this one of the defining moments of the last episode, and the season as a whole, showing that even a mechanical entity, shown as one extreme of humanity’s degeneration, is capable of change.

(I'm guessing they mean "doesn't")
Possibly the only time this line has ever been used correctly in science fiction

Suisei no Gargantia - 12

'The Decisive Moment'

Outward appearances count for nought, with contention quietly bubbling beneath. Though Pinion started the episode smiling like a fool, seemingly won over by Kugel's offer of power, my extreme dislike towards him began to change after I realized he was harboring disapproval in his heart. Not only did he see the errors of his own ways, he decided to set things right, despite lacking the capability to incite a successful revolution. However, the wind blows favourably, with Ledo beginning to see the flaws, and cracks within his commander's tyrannical, autocratic administration.

Suisei no Gargantia - 11

'Ruler of Terror'

This episode of Suisei no Gargantia heralds the official return of Commander Kugel, bringing along with it rapid developments in the face of its conclusion. Though I have my suspicions Kugel may not be the person running the show...

'Island of Ambition'

In this episode of Suisei no Gargantia, the writers really took liberty in dragging Ledo down to the lowest pit of his existence. Completely smashing Ledo's own beliefs, and core values fundamentally shaken by the irrefutable proof presented, Ledo becomes severely traumatized to the point he's been emotionally destroyed.

Ledo quite literally has blood on his hands
Everything great that has happened seems to have come at Ledo's expense, and what annoys me was Pinion's glee at having finally gotten his hands on the treasure while totally forgetting Ledo's wellbeing. Speaking of which I thought Ledo displayed real strength, and solidarity as a character. Had I been in his position, I'd have lost all hope. Of course, an accurate comparison is impossible, since we have completely different upbringings. However, there is no questioning the difficult challenges he has undergone.

Suisei no Gargantia - 09

Deep Sea Secrets’

Here, Ika Musume's relative just got turned into red mist
Suisei no Gargantia’s latest episode has begun to tie loose ends, building towards a finale which viewers alike have soaring expectations for, and which will hopefully deviate from the Urobutcher trend. Several key revelations are made, with some more important than others, particularly the coming to light of the complex history between mankind and the Hideauze.
