Jonny: An Introduction

Hello! I'm Jonny, and I'll be posting game reviews on this blog. You've all probably already seen my Virtue's Last Reward review. My real name is Arthur, but I really have something for the name Jonny. I have no idea what draws me towards it, to be honest.

The reason you're on this blog is probably, well, to read reviews of anime. That's the reason why I'll be sticking to Japanese games, because reviewing western games on this blog would be incredibly out of place. I may try reviewing anime later down the line, but we all know that would be a disaster. This next piece of information but upset a bunch of you, but might appeal to others. The bulk of my reviews will be 3DS titles. I am also a PC gamer, but all the best Japanese titles seem to be coming out on 3DS these days. In the Japanese front, I'm personally really excited for Shin Megami Tensei 4, Project X Zone (shown further down), Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies (picture below), Monster Hunter 4 and Bravely Default for that system. Oh yeah, I forgot, POKEMON. I'm hoping to review all six of those games that I just mentioned when they are released. I might also review a few visual novels on PC.

I've been playing excessive amount of games since I was young, starting with the GBA and Pokemon Fire-red. Pokemon is important to me, as it got me into gaming. When I was younger, I also was big into manga, and anime to a certain extent as well, as I basically chimed in while my brother watched the whole Bleach series. Back to games, a number of years later, I got into Monster Hunter, one of the most addictive and time-consuming games you can play. Monster Hunter hasn't really found a home in the west, while in Japan it continues to sell systems and millions of copies along with it. A big part of Japanese gaming culture is meeting up with friends with your portable systems and playing local multiplayer, and Monster Hunter is a perfect match for this game with is cooperative monster hunting. I'm also a big fan of Nintendo stuff, and I personally think they produce the best games you can get these days.

So that's my introduction. Look out for reviews of Project X Zone and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate within the next two months. Thanks for reading.
