"What? You're not watching monogatari? What's wrong with you?" |
So, we'll be seeing a lot more of Mr. Episode in Kizumonogatari. And just in case you couldn't tell, I freaking love this guy.
And then we have our second new character, Gaen, who knows everything. That's right, everything.
Who then proceeds to tell Hanekawa she knows nothing, the complete opposite of what Araragi would say about her knowing everything. Even Hanekawa's usual response "I only know what I know" was refuted by this new girl, who tells her "You don't even know what you know." Its really interesting how every aspect of Hanekawa's character is being called into question with this series, but I think I've talked about that enough so far, so lets get on with what else happened.
So, why do I think everything's going to go down next episode? Well, first of all, there's this
So yeah, it is a new kind of apparition, and it seems to be after Hanekawa, considering every single place she's spent the night in so far has burned down apart from Senjougahara's house. But more interesting is this little thing that Episode said about Hanekawa's "normalness" as a character. Apparently, in Kizumonogatari, Episode had some kind of dreadful feeling about Hanekawa, which he says is now gone without a trace, or more accurately
So, my guess is that this is somehow linked to this new tiger apparition, Kako. And then one final thing at the end of the episode, Hanekawa realizes how envy and jealousy could all be tied into this. It's been brought up by Mrs. Araragi that people who avert their eyes to things aren't actually running away. At the end then, Hanekawa has a realization that envy is the reason the fire sisters' boyfriends don't exist to Araragi, and that he's averting his eyes from the truth. In the same way, Hanekawa is averting her eyes from the truth. This feeling of envy, a feeling so strong that its considered one of the seven deadly sins, might just be what spawned this extremely powerful tiger apparition.
Anyway, I dont want to speculate too much more, and if I had the time I would go through all the different pieces of interesting dialogue in this episode, because there is a lot. It's well worth watching twice to really get all that's happening. And on one final note, they say men marry women that resemble their mother, but god it seems Araragi hit the nail on this one. Am I the only one that noticed this?
One more funny little thing. When Hanekawa thinks about how Araragi describes how his sisters wake him up, she recalls this
And then does anybody else remember this?
And then, back to our current episode, this, the underside of his bed.
And with that, I leave you for this week, get excited for next week's episode!
