Bleach - 547

Peace from the Shadows

These past five weeks, Bleach was absent from Jump, and I eagerly awaited its return. For those out there who were disappointed, I must ask that you seriously didn't think Kubo would stuff his 5 week plan into an entire chapter? Assuming this is the final war, all the captain's bankais shall be revealed, and the opening colour pages throws into perspective that both Ichigo's blades are black. Credit to Kubo where it is deserved, though how long this will last remains to be seen in the coming chapters.

Immediately after Ichigo completed forging his dual Zanpakuto, Soul Society is invaded by the Quincies. Now, this doesn't come from a full frontal assualt, or a sneaky stab from behind, but rather FROM THEIR SHADOW. The quincies reveal that they have actually been hiding within Sereitei all this time and had used their reishi manipulation abilities to construct an entire dimension concealed in the shadows. For a thousand years they have sat right under the noses of the Gotei 13 undetected, and at the same time proving the utter incompetence of the shinigami yet again, especially the the 12th Squad who pride themselves on being Scientists.

To be quite fair, separate dimensions cannot interact with each other, but to allow your sworn enemies to establish a base of operations within your own one in the first place is just...!!! Of course, the sensible thing to do is to keep their discovery hidden from any of the other captains and shinigami, instead locking themselves in a special shadow-free laboratory in order to design the most hideous costumes they can think of. It remains to be seen what sort of counter-abilities they have developed, but a few quincy casualties can probably be expected.

With Ywhach ordering a preemptive strike, the Shinigamis can only watch as their world slowly fades away into that of the Quincies. Some Captains weren't as ready as Kyouraku or Kurotsuchi. Amusingly enough, Ukitake was having a bath right when this happened. Although the Quincy intentions seems to be ending the battle as soon as possible within a few days using the element of surprise, there’s little doubt that Kubo also intends to drag out the battles for a good amount of time, showing many different fights consecutively.

Although the shinigami will probably suffer heavy losses initially especially among the grunts, they also have several aces to pull, not to mention a certain someone is no longer strapped to a chair at the bottom of the Division One HQ. Whoops, I forgot Renji and Rukia... and the list goes on. Kenpachi and Komamura will arrive to the battle buffed up significantly, though from them we can expect more brute power than fancy gear. Urahara, Orihime, and Sado are also due to arrive from Hueco Mundo with the surviving Grimm-, I mean Arrancar as well. Urahara, hurry up and sort out the Bankai Re-Stealing Device already, and that'll be all for this week.

Therefore your logic is invalid
