So, between the last episode and this one I decided to rewatch some of Bakemonogatari. I strongly recommend you do this too if its been a while since you last saw it. There's a lot to notice with the point of view change in this series and how different it is. Theres a fair amount in this episode, and some of my suspicions from last week have all but been confirmed. Excitement!
First of all, there's Kanbaru's first appearance this season. Eh, not a huge fan of the new look but oh well, everyone's changing their hair this season so I wont complain. This scene was pretty interesting actually. Its the most noticeable contrast between Hanekawa's perspective and Araragi's in that there were absolutely no shots where Kanbaru was sexualized in any way. Which give me the impression that Kanbaru is "sizing up" Hanekawa, and pushing her conversational comfort level in a similar way that Senjougahara did last episode. Anyway, after an amusing conversation between Karen and Senjougahara, Hanekawa end up staying at Araragi's house, meaning...
The return of everyone's favourite loli! Im glad that theres finally a conversation between Shinobu and Black Hanekawa. This has confirmed some suspicions I had about this white tiger apparition, as it seems like its something only Hanekawa can see, in which case it could just be that it locked onto her, its part of her own cat apparition or (for what its worth in this series) its a fake. Either way, with the episode ending on such a grim note, im excited to see how they progress. I expect a lot will be happening soon.
